Jeff Maitles

Managing Director
Investment Grade

Tribal Capital Markets, LLC has hired Jeffrey Maitles as a Managing Director for its Fixed Income department.  Mr. Maitles has been part of 3 different desk buildouts during his 30+ year career.  He has been responsible for structuring, selling, and trading the entire range of fixed income credit from High Yield to Investment Grade for large companies and privately held security firms.  He worked in proprietary high yield security trading at Merrill Lynch from 1982 to 2002, then helped grow the New York trading desk of the Hong Kong firm, DebtTraders in 2002 and 2003. Afterwards, Mr. Maitles served as the lead trader in high yield securities, specifically bankrupt, distressed, and lower quality securities, until 2005. His extensive industry background will aid the efforts at TCM in expanding its reach in the dealer community as well as working with money managers, credit unions, banks, and municipalities.

Mr. Maitles previously worked at First Empire Securities where he accomplished an over 50% increase in revenues by generating ideas and trade flow in investment grade corporate bonds for a national sales force, predominantly focused on credit unions and municipalities. In 2010, Jeff served as the head of the fixed income department at Zeus Securities where he lead the implementation of electronic trading platforms and retail investors.

Mr. Maitles also worked at Sanders Morris Harris in 2006, assisting in the launch and management of the high yield trading desk and significantly increased revenue through trading the lower end of the high yield spectrum while simultaneously establishing new fixed income accounts. In 2007, he founded JDM Capital Solutions, a consulting firm specialized in raising capital and offering financing solutions for small business owners. He worked there through 2009.

Mr. Maitles holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a minor in Computer Science from University at Buffalo.
